What you need to do before September.

You need to make sure that you have written your bibliography. As a minimum it must include:
5 web sources
5 articles from newspapers, magazines or journals
5 books
3 textbooks
You should have FULLY completed a coversheet for each of these.

You should have posted at least 500 words about your text on the blog, and responded to my comments. (This does not have to be a written comment).

You should have drafted several versions of your essay title, so that I can discuss your ideas with you.

You should have started your first essay. It needs to be correctly laid out, and have a bibliography at the end. You are aiming for 1000 words initially (not including the bibliography). Include relevant images.

You should have read through the handout on Wider Contexts and highlighted anything that is relevant to your essay. You need to incorporate this information into your first draft.

Read through at least three other people's blog entries and post constructive feedback for them. You might be able to suggest other films or television programmes that seem similar to what they are studying, or perhaps you view the text that they are studying different from them.
