representation of London
eastenders, notting hill, love actually, only fools and horses, football factory, greenstreet, bend it like Beckham, lilly Allen-LDN, Kano-London town, Plan B-no more eating/someone switch in Harvey Nicks, Friends-episodes in London
This shows potential, Laura. You may find it helpful to look at issues around class as there are strong differences between protrayals of working class London and upper class London.
Another suggestion is to narrow it down further and look at cockneys in the media. Wikipedia has lots of info on this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cockney
I would recommend this as it will give you a sharply focussed assignment and you can draw directly on it for your Independent Study.
Remember to try to look at a variety of TV programmes including Only Fools and Horses.
